Trivia[]

  • Niles and Maris are going on their first date since separating, and recreating their first date for which Niles borrowed Martin's '82 Chevrolet Impala.
  • Frasier has trouble being without a romantic partner.
  • Frasier is confirmed to be 43, making his birth year 1954.
  • It is revealed that Niles was propositioned on a plane 20 years ago, but turned it down as he didn't know what the Mile High Club was.
  • If Frasier had been a girl Martin and Hester would've named her Laura. Hester also liked the name Priscilla.
  • While lamenting his lack of a love life, Frasier says his divorce from Lilith was five years ago.
  • Niles (David Hyde Pierce) incorrectly identifies the wine stain on Frasier's (Kelsey Grammer) neck tie as being a Merlot in "Odd Man Out"; it is in fact a Cabernet. Ironically, in Season 7's "Whine Club", it is his ability to distinguish Merlot from Cabernet that wins him the coveted post of Corkmaster over Frasier for the wine club.
  • Linda Hamilton, the guest star in this episode, was also a guest caller in The Good Son, the pilot episode.
  • The title is from the movie Odd Man Out (1947) directed by Carol Reed, starring James Mason, and is based on a novel of the same name by F. L. Green.
