They're Playing Our Song is the 13th episode of Season 7 of Frasier.
Synopsis[]
HARMONIZING FRASIER IS A DANGEROUS MAN WITH A BATON -- Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) offers to conjure up a short theme song for his radio show, but in his typical overblown fashion, the requested little ditty balloons into an extravagant symphonic magnum opus -- conducted by Frasier -- with enough musicians and singers to bankrupt the station. Of course, Frasier pooh-poohs his father's (John Mahoney) more practical lyrical version which was composed a capella in the shower.

Trivia[]
- This episode shares a few similarities to the Cheers episode Do Not Forsake Me O' My Postman during season eleven. In that episode, Rebecca Howe hires a jingle writer, ironically played by John Mahoney, to advertise the bar. In this episode, it is Martin Crane (again played by Mahoney) who comes up with the successful jingles to advertise Frasier's show, much to his son's annoyance.
- The title is from the musical They're Playing Our Song with book by Neil Simon, lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager, and music by Marvin Hamlisch based on the real-life relationship of Hamlisch and Sager.
CONTINUITY
- After all the trouble Frasier went to to create a jingle and all the urgency implied by Kenny, we never hear the jingle in any subsequent episodes. It's possible that it is used but only heard by the radio audience, but not likely, since Frasier would also have to hear the jingle in order to time his introduction
